Parkwood Hills Public School Transition Plan
At a meeting of the Board on 26 January 2010, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board voted to close Parkwood Hills Public School effective September 2010. Efforts are now being focused on ensuring a smooth transition for students, families and the greater school community.

Pinecrest Public School Teacher Recognized for Saving a Life!
Pinecrest Public School Teacher, Richard Conly is congratulated by Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, Director of Education, Lyall Thomson with saving the life of 11-year-old Miranda Gaudreau, a student in his Grade 6 class. Miranda choked on a piece of candy during gym class and thanks to Mr. Conly's first aid training he was able to control the situation until she could be taken to hospital.
Miranda, whose strengths are reading and writing, was back at school, first thing the next day, grateful for her teachers' training and quick thinking. Meanwhile, Miranda's parents view Mr. Conly as a first class hero.

OCDSB adopts new Cross Boundary Transfer Policy
At a Special Meeting of the Board on 5 January 2010, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board adopted a new cross boundary transfer policy. This policy comes after months of policy review, public consultation, and committee deliberation.
